    I'm glad they came out with these books They don't shy away from some grown up content yet still are child appropriate I knew nothing about Blackbeard other than being a pirate and learned some things myself Some of the other books I've read with my son, I've known the subject better and was please with the content they chose to illustrate their lives Probably our 15th book read from this line of literature.

    Every month my son has to do a book report and last month it needed to be about a person He loves pirates so it was no surprise he picked this book, and he LOVES it He reads it without me having to remind him and he tells his younger brother

    Ive bought several books from this series for my son who is in 4th grade and we love them They have lots of pictures and are easy to read several chapters and not loose his attention.

    My 7 year old daughter is really interested in pirates, particularly Blackbeard, and this is a great straightforward intro that we read over 2 nights A warning for sensitive folks: Blackbeard’s death details are quick but gruesome.
