If you're looking for one of the best graphic novels ever; look elsewhere This isn't a bad GN, just not a game changer like The Dark Knight Returns or Watchmen Its middle of the road The story is reasonably fast paced, and easy to follow Its decidedly British in character The artwork is decent Don't expect a bunch of Jim Lee quality splatter pages, you ain't gonna get it, but the art is bleak and the B&W lends

Since it's black and white and some of the art is cryptic, the story was difficult to follow at times or the characters got confusing It helped that I saw the movie first Had to read some pages than once But then it all makes sense because it's a spy story and I always have to watch spy movies than once So maybe that's what the writer and illustrator was selling Confusing up front, but lots of oh yea revelation

This whole thing is lazily, skimpily drawn, relying on black & white sh

This book is somewhat different from the movie (as always) The story was good but it seemed to drag a bit This is good graphic novel for someone interested in suspense or espionage.

Nothing is what it seemsW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE November MI spy Lorraine Broughton was sent to Berlin to investigate the death of another agent and the disappearance of a list revealing every spy working there She found a powder keg of mistrust assassinations and bad defections that ended with the murder of MI's top officer as the Berlin Wall was torn down Now Lorraine has returned from the Cold War's coldest city to tell her story And nothing is what it seems. I think some reviews are saying they watched the film and don t like this Graphic Novel This the original work which the film is based on The style is actually fitting with the Cold War and the espionage genre If people can t understand graphic novels are written and illustrated in different ways it s their loss Both The Coldest Winter and The Coldest City are great to read if you enjoy this type of genre Going by how the film was isn t really the way to view this work You will also see how they tweaked with the ending if you have seen the film and it s different from the original Good graphic novel
