3 stars It was ok but it didn't really click with me Too many characters for the length of the book It doesn't conclude some of the secondary storylines in a manner that I would find satisfying And it employs too much telling and not enough showing I guess it's a problem with the nature of the supernatural ability that is present here But I think it could be executed better

This was a strange premise that I wouldn't have connected with under most circumstances But then this book tried to tackle a pretty sensitive topic and did it very poorly in my opinion I'm not a fan of this particular Alexander book

This one was tough to rate because mostly it is an EXCELLENT book The idea behind it is genius the whole premise gives this book a psychological depth that I didn t expect but that got me hooked in no time The writing is very very very good The main character is likeable but realistically flawed the love interest is passably interesting and the side characters have their own lives and side plots that I really liked they read like real people and not just pawns helping the main plot along It was a book I loved reading and couldn t put downSo basically this should ve been a 4 or even 5 star rating The reason why it isn t The ending felt incredibly rushed With only 20 pages to go the author drops this horrific thing on the MC and for the life of me I cannot understand why Robin Alexander didn t give this another 20 30 or even 50 pages to wrap up properly As it is I m sitting here and I m half angry because I have no idea how they worked this out And I feel cheated out of a satisfying endingIt s too bad This book was so enjoyable up to that point I has however put Robin Alexander on my map It s been my first book by that author but now I m really impressed and intrigued I ll definitely check out her other books
